The Central Board of Secondary Education ( CBSE ) has commenced the pre-exam psychological counselling on February 01, 2019. The pre-exam psychological counselling will help students to get rid of exam stress and will help them to perform well in the board exams. CBSE conducts pre-exam counselling every year. This year, the psychological counselling will continue until April 04, 2019.
Apart from helping students in regulating exam stress, the pre-exam counselling will also provide tips on preparation and time management. CBSE appointed four special educators to address the issues of differently abled students.

CBSE students can avail the benefit of pre-exam counselling by contacting the Toll-Free Number 1800-11-8004 . The helpline number will be functional from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
Trained counsellors and principals from CBSE schools will provide telephonic counselling to students at free of cost. Compared the previous year, CBSE has increased the number of counsellors this year. Over 87 principals, psychologists, trained counsellors and special educators have been appointed to guide the students.
Out of 87 counsellors, 65 are available in India and 22 are located in Japan, Qatar, Singapore, UAE, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

Students can also mail their queries to counselling.cecbse@gmail.com. Similarly, a Question & Answer column will be published in all the major newspapers. Experts will answer the queries of students.
As per the official data of CBSE, over 50% of calls are from students and parents who are looking for solutions to overcome exam stress and anxiety. Almost 1,356 calls were received from February 01 to 15, 2019. Out of 1,356 calls, 619 were made for seeking psychological counselling.
Last year, CBSE began pre-exam counselling on February 01, 2018. CBSE has been conducting pre-exam psychological counselling for the past 22 years.
Recently, CBSE released the timetable for Class 10 and Class 12 Board Exams 2019.
