On May 02, 2018, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) confirmed that it had never used encrypted question papers to avoid paper leaks in CBSE Board Exams 2018. The board quashed the rumours that it resorted to using encrypted question papers after the issue of CBSE Class 12 Economics and Class 10 Mathematics paper leak came into limelight. The board took necessary reforms to avoid the paper leak in board exams.

The board will make use of advanced technology to regulate paper leak in future. A new system will be implemented effectively next year. However, the officials did not disclose any details about the new system of disbursing questions. Already, the new system was trailed this year , and it was almost a success apart from some minor issues.

Recently, HRD Ministry constituted a committee to examine the CBSE’s process of conducting examinations. The seven-member panel will study the entire process and suggest a secure and fool-proof system for conducting CBSE board exams in a free and fair manner. The latest technology will be included in the system to avoid the paper leak.
The existing CBSE process of setting question paper and maintaining confidentiality is good. However, there are some loopholes in the systems that are paving way for paper leaks.
CBSE Class 12 Economics re-exam was conducted on April 25, 2018 , and the paper was easier than before. The Class 12 results are expected to be released in the last week of May .
