CBSE is planning to allow class 10th and 12th students who represent India in various international sports events to take their board exams later. This policy came into place after the board got a number of requests from students over the years.
The board has decided to create a special provision for such students which will ensure their sports competitions and exams do not clash and that way they won’t have to miss out on either of the two. The Board had apparently given concessions to nine students in CBSE schools across the country in March-April 2018 because their sports events clashed with their exam dates.
According to a circular issued by the board on 26th December 2018, the students who want to avail the concession will have to make a written request to the board through their schools and send it along with the recommendation of the Sports Authority of India to inform their participation in a particular event. The Board will then conduct exams for these students later on a date which will be convenient for the student as well as the board. But the exam has to be conducted before the board examination results are out.
