The Department of Science and Technology (DST) of the Central Government of India has selected the Indian Institute of Technology - IIT Delhi for establishing Science and Technology infrastructure facility. This facility will be accessible t0 start-ups, academia, industries, manufacturing units, and Research labs.
The name of the professionally managed science and technology facility will be SATHI or ‘Sophisticated Analytical and Technical Help Institute. IIT Delhi has been selected for setting up the Science and Technology facility because of its achievements in academia, research, and innovation.
DST will provide IIT Delhi with a grant of Rs.125 crore in the next three financial years for the establishment of SATHI.
The Director of IIT Delhi, Prof. V Ramgopal Rao has expressed his gratitude to the Department of Science and Technology (DST) for showing faith in the institute and trusting its capabilities. Professor Rao said that IIT Delhi is honoured to take this responsibility for the betterment of the nation. The facilities which will be created as a part of this activity will be made available to researchers as soon as possible.

The SATHI Facility will start its journey from the Sonepat (Haryana) campus of IIT Delhi. It will facilitate modern scientific and manufacturing tools which are generally not available for Academia.

Setting up of SATHI is a great move as it will provide essential facilities to academia, industries, R&D department under one roof.
