N.Chandrasekaran, the new Chairman of Tata Sons, inaugurated the Kohli Research Block at International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad. Foundation stone for Kohli Centre was laid at IIIT-Hyderabad in June 2015. It has been built with the help of CSR Funding from Tata Consultancy Services or TCS Foundation. The centre was launched to give a boost to entrepreneurship, teaching and research in the area of Intelligent Systems.

Kohli Research Centre has been set up in an area of 60,000 sq ft, and it has four floors which provide a world class ambiance for carrying out related research activities.
On this occasion, Chandrasekaran revealed that Kohli Centre on Intelligent Systems would have a significant impact on the advancements in Information Technology. The centre will bring professionals, researchers, students and academicians together with an infrastructure that is conducive to promote sophisticated research in Intelligent Systems.

He further added that automation that is taking place today and in future is going to be magical, and there are various unique opportunities in India and other parts of the world to carry out pioneering research in order to become best in class at the Kohli Research Centre.
The principal motive of Kohli Centre for Intelligent Systems is to promote research in wide areas of Intelligent Systems and to coordinate research among the related groups in IIIT-H as well as academic and industry groups within the country and abroad.
Former Deputy Chairman of TCS, F.C. Kohli and Chairman of IIIT-Hyderabad, Raja Reddy were also present on the occasion.
