Chalapathi Pharma College conducted a guest lecture on “ Career path in Pharma Vigilance ” on 2-April-2016 . The guest lecture was delivered by, T.Vishwanadh, Associate manager of Quintails company . The guest speaker was introduced to the students by the college principal, Nadendla Rama Rao.
Addressing the students Mr.T.Vishwanadh said, “There are a number of career options in Pharma Vigilance. The government of India set up department of pharma vigilance in the year 2010. The department is set up on a motive to survey various medicines and analyze the side effects caused by various medicines. The department also plays an important role in avoiding duplicate medicines. The department educates the people about the various medicines and remedial measures for the side effects caused by the medicines”. He opined that, “Students can get employment in Pharma Vigilance by developing knowledge about the various medicines, positive and negative effects.” He advised students not to confine themselves to the textbooks.
Students posed various questions and they were answered by the guest speaker very briefly and logically. College faculty also actively participated in the interaction with the guest speaker. Later students expressed their opinions about the theme of the guest lecture. Students felt that the government has to take more care in supplying proper medicines to the people who are living in rural areas where there is more possibility for diseases.
The guest speaker was felicitated by the college management and presented a memento. The guest lecture was attended by College principal, faculty, students, print and electronic media.
