Latest Updates: All Schools and educational institutions are to remain closed due to heavy rainfall in the state. Chennai School Rain Holiday 13 November 2024 has been confirmed. Apart from Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Cuddalore, Tiruvarur, Villuppuram, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Puducherry, and Karaikal are also declared as closed due to rainfall. As per the latest IMD reports, the weather will continue the same until November 15. For school holidays on November 14 and 15, students are advised to check the local media channels or seek information from their respective school authorities.

As per the latest update, the state is expected to face severe downpours between 64.5 mm to 115 mm in the next three days. Meanwhile, the precipitation is expected to gain its pace in Tamil Nadu in the next couple of days. Weather analysts say areas near Puducherry, Karaikal, and Chennai may encounter heavy winds and thunderstorms and become severe.
