The registrations for Common Law Admission Test or CLAT 2017 have commenced. CLAT 2017 is a national level examination that is being carried out for the admission to law courses in 18 universities across the country which are accepting CLAT scores. As per official schedule, the examination is going to take place on May 14, 2017. This year, Chanakya National Law University located in Patna is conducting the entrance examination.

Eligibility: -
- All the aspirants who are going to apply for UG law programmes must note that the minimum educational qualification is Class 12 or Intermediate.
- On the other hand, the applicants must have 45% (General category) of marks in Class 12 or Intermediate.
- 40% of marks in Class 12 necessary for SC/ST candidates to appear for admission test.
- Candidates who are going to seek admission to postgraduate law programmes must note that a degree in five-year integrated LLB or relevant degree is necessary to appear for the entrance exam and seek admission.
- For General category, 55% of marks UG or Integrated LLB degree is needed to be eligible for the entrance examination.
- On the other hand, 50 percent of marks are necessary for SC/ST candidates.

Application Procedure: -
- The entire application process for CLAT 2017 examination is online.
- Initially, the candidates need to register their details on the official site.
- The candidates will receive a user ID and password through which the candidates can go to the online application portal.
- It is advisable to have a glance on instructions before filling the application form.
- The cost of application for OBC, Specially-Abled and General Category is Rs. 4000.
- For SC/ST candidates, the application cost is Rs. 3,500.
- The candidates need to understand that the application fee can be paid online.
