The exam dates of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) have been announced for the year 2022 and well as for 2023. CLAT 2022 will be held on May 8, 2022 while CLAT 2023 will be conducted in the same year on December 18, 2022. This is for the first time that the CLAT exam for two different admission cycles will be held in the same year.

The Annual Executive Committee and the General Body Meeting of the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) was held on November 14, 2021, at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad under the chairmanship of Professor Faizan Mustafa. The exam dates of CLAT for the upcoming two years were decided in this meeting.

Additionally, the Consortium also resolved to reduce the counselling fee of CLAT from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 30,000 for the general category candidates and to Rs. 20,000 for SC, ST, OBC, BC, EWS, PWD and other reserved category candidates. In the meeting, it was also discussed that in order to protect the privacy of candidates, the Consortium will secure their consent prior to sharing any personal information with any university or any other third party.
The conducting body has also elected a new Executive Committee and Professor Poonam Saxena, Vice-Chancellor of National Law University Jodhpur , will take over as President from the outgoing President Professor Faizan Mustafa. The VC of MNLU Nagpur , Professor Vijender Kumar, was elected as the vice-president and the Vice-Chancellor of HNLU Raipur , Professor V.C. Vivekanandan, was elected as CLAT Convenor, 2022.
