Biplab Kumar Deb, Chief Minister of Tripura , has assured to help Tripura Central University for its development and to introduce various new facilities at the campus. He has requested the university officials to prepare a comprehensive plan related to developing the central university. He also assured that he would personally talk to HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar about the facilities required by the university and changes required for the development of the same.

The Chief Minister also said that the all the essential facilities related to the education will be made available at the Tripura Central University and they are ready to work hard to make it an acclaimed in the country as well as abroad.
He also mentioned that it is his dream to make the Tripura Central University one of the most renowned universities in the world and to provide all the essential facilities for imparting and receiving an education. The main aim is to provide students with national and international career opportunities so that they do not have to struggle hard and look out for opportunities out of the state.

Tripura University offers various postgraduate programmes in the field of science, arts, and commerce. The University also offers many vocational undergraduate programs in the field of film and video production and rubber technology. It is also popular for their postgraduate diploma courses in subjects such as tribal studies, women's studies, finance, and taxation, tribal language and others.
