Most students prefer the suburban Mumbai than the South Mumbai. 38,000 students applied to the Mithibai College, Vile Parle to its commerce stream.
Commerce Colleges Get Maximum Applications in Mumbai

On the basis of applications received this year it is proved that most students prefer the suburban Mumbai than the South Mumbai.

This statement is made because this year 38,000 students applied to the Mithibai College, Vile Parle. Its commerce stream has received the maximum number of applications in Mumbai.

While the Arts stream received the lowest number of applications, in general as none of the colleges received more that 10,000 number of applications. Almost 8,000 students have registered for St Xavier’s College in the Arts stream.

“The demand for suburban colleges has been on the rise for the past few years,” said Rajpal Hande, principal of Mithibai College. He said the college, particularly, was in demand because of good infrastructure and a high NAAC accreditation.
