The 30 th convocation of Kurukshetra University is scheduled to be held on 27th May 2017. Ram Bilas Sharma, the Haryana education minister in an official conference at his residence in New Delhi disclosed that the Union Minister Rajnath Singh will be the chief guest of the convocation ceremony. He will also be delivering the convocation address.
The education minister was accompanied by K C Sharma. the vice chancellor of the varsity. Mr. Sharma informed that Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki are also going to be present on this occasion.

According to the release, Rajnath Singh will be giving out degree certificates to the students of graduation and post graduation courses. Also, students belonging to M.Phil and Ph.D. would be awarded for the academic sessions 2015-16 and 2016-17.
The Kurukshetra University was formed in the year 1956 as a unitary residential University by the first President of India, Late Dr. Rajendra Prasad. The university is located in the holy city of Kurukshetra, the land known for the historical battle of 'Mahabharata'. The major motive of the university is to prepare students with ingrained human values and commitment so that they can expand the frontiers of knowledge for the progress of society.

The different programs in the university combine the persistent value of a liberal arts education with the knowledge, experience and skills offered by the professional departments for promoting Indian culture. The varsity has 445 faculty members. It also has 457 affiliated institutes and colleges in the districts of Panchkula, Kurukshetra, Sirsa, Karnal, Jind, Fatehabad, Hisar, Yamuna Nagar, Kaithal, Panipat and Ambala.
