Odisha Government has taken a decision to cancel all pending undergraduate and postgraduate final semester examinations except in medical courses due to the outbreak of COVID-19. The state govt. took this decision to ensure the safety of the students due to the lockdown in the country.
According to the official statement of the government, colleges and universities in the state will follow an evaluation methodology which is recommended by UGC for the evaluation of the final semester examination and the result will be published by the end of August. However, the examinations for medical courses will take place as per the schedule.
As per the evaluation process, the institutions will take prescribed weightage of internal marks along with the average marks obtained by the student in all previous years/ semesters in that remaining subject for the remaining weightage.
However, if a student is of the view that they can get more marks than the alternative method of evaluation, universities, and autonomous colleges will conduct examinations for them in November. This decision is not applicable to the students who have already completed their practical and theory examinations. Also, students with two back papers cannot appear in these examinations. Proportionate quotient or other evaluation methods will be used for the evaluation of these back papers.
