CSAB Counselling 2024 : As per the official schedule, the registration and choice filling process for CSAB Counselling 2024 will begin on July 31, 2024, at csab.nic.in. Candidates willing and eligible to participate must register for the counselling and also complete the choice filling before August 3, 2024, by 5 PM. After this, no more candidates will be allowed to fill out choices. Can non-vacant seats be added as choices for CSAB Counselling 2024?

• As per the official instructions provided by CSAB, non-vacant seats can be added as choices in CSAB counselling 2024.

• Given previous records, some seats do get vacant in the later stage of counselling, as NIT, IIIT, and GFTI admissions have not yet concluded. These vacancies that are created on-time are called as consequential vacancies.

• Consequential vacancies are NOT mentioned in the vacant seat matrix which will be released as per CSAB vacant seats release date 2024 .

• Therefore, yes, candidates must add non-vacant seats as choices for CSAB Counselling 2024 as well, and should not completely rely on the vacant seat matrix as that is tentative in nature.

• In fact, all the programs of the NIT+ system that applicants will be eligible for will be shown in front of them during choice filling, irrespective of vacant or not.

• JoSAA choices will NOT be considered for CSAB. The choice filling must be done freshly again for CSAB.

Important Instructions Regarding CSAB 2024 Choice Filling

While filling out the choices, candidates must adhere to the following:

• Candidates must check the list of special eligibility criteria on the official website, and only upon following it must fill their choices.

• Candidates must fill out their preferences without bothering about the status of the vacancy.

• Apart from adding all the choices, candidates must also re-arrange it in the descending order of preference.

• Candidates who got admission to JoSAA 2024 rounds need to fill in their choices again if they wish to participate in CSAB Special Rounds.

• Candidates must note that all the willingness options (Slide/Freeze/Float) provided for the seat during JoSAA Rounds will not be considered, and all choices will be considered for special round allotment.

• On the day of marking the choices, candidates must also lock them. If they fail to lock, the last provided choice will be saved automatically, and there will be no provision to edit.

• If any candidate still wishes to edit, he/she will be required to submit an online request in the CSAB portal and validate the OTP to unlock the request. All this is provided if the choice filling deadline is yet to expire. Once expired, no requests will be entered for addition, subtraction, and even rearrangement of choices.

• Once done, candidates must take a printout of their entered preferences for later reference.
