The Joint CSIR-UGC Test conducted by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) will be held tentatively on December 18, 2016, for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and to determine the eligibility for appointment of Lecturers (NET), in different science subjects, falling under the faculty of science and technology.
On the basis of their performance in the test, two different merit lists will be made. The first one will comprise of the candidates qualifying for the award of JRF-NET, and the second one for those candidates qualifying the eligibility test for Lectureship (NET).
The registration process for the same have started and candidates are required to apply for the same online before 9th September.

Eligibility Criteria for CSIR NET/JRF:
A degree in BSc - 4-years/ MSc/ Integrated MSc/ BTech/B.Pharma/MBBS
55% marks in the qualifying degree for General and OBC candidates
50% marks for /ST/SC /PH/Visually Handicapped candidates

Syllabus for CSIR NET/JRF:
As per the syllabus and scheme, the question paper shall be divided into three parts-A, B, and C
Pa rt A:
Part A will contain questions related to graphical analysis, analytical and numerical ability, general aptitude while stressing on logical reasoning, quantitative comparison, series formation, and puzzles etc.
Part B:
Part B will contain subjects related to conventional multiple-choice questions (MCQs), covering all the topics given in the syllabus.
Part C:
Part C will contain higher value questions to examine candidate's knowledge of scientific concepts and its application. It may be of analytical nature.
