The CTET cutoff marks are not determined based on the difficulty level of the exam and the number of candidates appearing for the test. It is fixed by the Central Board of Secondary Education in advance as per the NCTE guidelines. As per the passing marks fixed by CBSE for CTET 2024, candidates from the general category need to secure a minimum of 60% marks, while candidates from reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) need to attain 55% marks to pass the exam. For the general category, 90 marks are considered qualifying, while for reserved categories, 82 marks are considered qualifying.

Candidates who meet the CTET 2024 cutoff or qualifying marks will receive a mark sheet and eligibility certificate. The CTET certificate enables them to apply for teaching positions in government schools for Classes 1 to 8, depending on whether they have qualified Paper 1 or Paper 2.
