What is CTET Normalization Process?
CTET Normalization Process is a process through which the scores of the exam will be normalized. The examination authority will be using the normalization method to allow the scores to the students. So how the CTET scores are normalized? Since CTET 2021 exam was conducted in multiple shifts, there were multiple question papers. Similarly, the difficulty level of each question paper was different. Hence, the examination authority will consider all the difficulty levels, analyze them, and find the average score for all the shifts. This average score will be termed the normalized score.
How CTET Scores are Normalized?
Given below is a simple example to understand the CTET 2021 normalization process:
- If the CTET exam has 3 shifts, there will be 3 average marks as per the difficulty level of the exam.
- If the average score for Shift 1 is 100 and shift 2 is 80, then the difference between these two scores will be 20.
- If 20 is added to the shift 2 average score (80+20), it will be 100 which is the same as shift 1 average score.
- This will be the normalized score for CTET. The same method is then used to calculate the normalized score for Shift 2 and Shift 3 and so on.
