CUET 2022 Student Interview with Ipshita Singh
Q1. What is your overall score? Did you take any online or offline coaching to get a high score in the CUET exam?
Answer: My CUET 2022 subjects were Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology & English, and in every subject, my percentile was greater than 90. I did not take any sort of coaching to get these scores, be it online or offline.
Q2. When did you start preparing for CUET 2022? Please tell us about your preparation plan.
Answer: I got to know about the CUET exam 2022 like any other 12th class student and started the preparation only after my ISC Board exams were over on 23rd May 2022. I began the CUET preparation with the portions that were not a part of my board syllabus followed by the weaker sections for me like organic chemistry and vectors. I prepared for the exam religiously without much distraction for two months. I used to study until 3:00 - 4:00 am in the morning.
Q3. What is your dream college or career goal? Also, since you were the first batch that appeared for CUET, what will be your advice for preparation for students who will appear for CUET in 2023?
Answer: I wish to seek admission to Hindu College of Delhi University in B.Sc Mathematics Hons. course. My second choice for the course will be B.Sc Biology Hons. My advice to the students who will be taking the CUET exam next year is that they just need to be consistent with their preparation. The exam has both theory-related and numerical questions to solve. One just needs to be thorough with the NCERT syllabus/books. Please do not focus on every chapter or the ones you missed, because there are options available. Be thorough with the sections/ parts/ chapters that you are sure about!
Q4. Since CUET was conducted for the first time, did you have any apprehensions or doubts about the entire journey? If so, please elaborate.
Answer:
To be honest I was very confused regarding the domains because there was no one to guide me. The YouTube videos that were available online only confused me further. The application forms were too lengthy and it was a bit heartbreaking to know that after the first semester of the board exams, the marks were of no use anymore.
Q5. If there's anything else that you would like to share with us, please let us know.
Answer: I am from St. Joseph's Academy, Dehradun. I secured 95% in my ISC exams with PCMB subject combinations. I always had a keen interest in Mathematics. CUET was a correct decision for me, I believe. I also think, for students who were not able to perform in the most desired way in the Board exams, had a very fair chance of preparing and acing the exam for UG admissions this year. Even though the time taken for the entire CUET process was full of stress and anxiety, it was a good experience. I only wish that the process is faster and better in the upcoming academic cycles.
