CUET Exam Pattern 2023: Quickly becoming one of the most popular examinations in India, CUET UG was introduced in 2022 for admissions into central universities across the nation for undergraduate courses like BA, B.Com, B.Sc, etc. Considering the broad spectrum of admissions through CUET, its examination pattern too reflects the same. CUET UG 2023 will consist primarily of three sections: Languages, Domain-Specific Subjects, and General Test. Of these, General Test will be compulsory for all candidates and multiple choice are provided in languages and domain-specific subjects.

CUET Exam Pattern 2023

Before proceeding with CUET question paper pattern 2023, it is important to note the following:

  • All questions will be objective-type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with four option choices.

  • Section I is divided and option choices are as follows:
    Section IA – 13 Languages
    Section IB – 20 Languages

  • Section II – 27 Domain-Specific Subjects

  • Section III – General Test

  • Marks per Question: +5 Marks

  • Negative Marking: -1 Mark

  • Slots: 2

  • Number of Maximum Tests a candidate may give: 9 tests (details below)

In Slot 1, candidates can take up to 4 tests only as:

  • One Language from Section IA

  • Maximum of two Domain-Specific Subjects from Section II

  • One General Test from Section III

CUET Question Paper Pattern 2023 Slot 2

It is to be noted that for 2022, a maximum of only 4 domain subjects were allowed. The limit this year has been increased to 6 subjects. Therefore, in Slot 2, candidates can take up to 7 tests as given.

  • One Language from Section IA & IB

  • Maximum of 6 Domain-Specific Subjects from Section II

    OR

  • Two Languages from Section IA & IB

  • Maximum of 5 Domain-Specific Subjects from Section II
