Israel-Hamas War: Nearly 338,000 People Displaced in Gaza
As the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) intensify their strikes into Hamas Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip, around 338,000 people are expected to have lost their homes, according to a report released by the United Nations. Israel and Hamas are fighting a direct war as a result of a sudden attack by Hamas on Israeli territory on October 7
On October 11 alone, more than 78,000 people were added to the list of displaced in the report by UN. This has raised the number to 338,000. The analysts have feared that the number will reach 500,000 by this weekend
To face the war together, The opposition leader Benny Gantz has joined the ‘Emergency Government’ formed by the current government. This government will only focus on fighting the war and administration of the country during this situation
Hamas has announced to continue the war even after the destruction done by the Israeli Defence Forces in the blockaded enclave in Gaza Strip. Gaza officials have reported more than 1000 casualties in the air strikes carried out by the Israeli Air Force

North East Express Derailed in Bihar: Rescue Operation Ongoing
In yet another major blow to the Indian Railways security after the horrific train accident in Odisha’s Balasore, two compartments of North-East Express en route to Guwahati were derailed in a place near Bihar’s Buxar.
The accident took place at 9:53 PM of October 11, 2023 when two AC III tier coaches of the train turned and flipped and 4 more coaches were derailed
Four passengers have lost their lives and 70 more have been reported to be injured in this unfortunate incident
Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnav has expressed condolences for the affected and their families. However, he shared that the root cause of the accident is still unknown and will be found soon.
As the rescue operations are still ongoing and the track is still occupied with the derailed train, several other trains and their routes have been rescheduled. According to the Ministry of Railways, 10 trains have been cancelled and 21 trains have been diverted to other routes for October 12.
