The Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Cuttack is planning to expand its campus in Bayalismauja as they are adding more courses in the institute.

the state government would introduce new trades in the proposed extension campus and increase seats of popular trades in phases, said by the minister of skill development and technical education, Mr Sanjay Das Burma. He even told that the state government selected a seven acre plot in the same area.

they were facing problems in opening new trades in the present ITI campus of 3.5 acre, currently 2,600 students of the institute are being trained in 19 different trades, were the words of Principal of the premier institute Subhendra Kumar Mishra.


Sanjay Das Burma said the state government signed memorandum of understandings (MOUs) with 34 industries/public sector units (PSUs) for setting up ITI . "Seven of those industries have already taken initiatives to go ahead with their plan. Besides, rest industrial houses will take steps to set up ITC after acquiring necessary land for this purpose. 70 out of 314 blocks in 30 districts of the state did not have an ITI or an ITC. Of them, highest number of eight blocks in Kandhamal district did not have such institute followed by six blocks each in Koraput, Nabarangpur and Balangir districts, he said.
