The fifth convocation ceremony of Ambedkar University, Delhi (AUD) will take place in a grand manner on December 9, 2016. Spiritual leader, Dalai Lama will be the chief guest on this occasion and address the gathering. The convocation ceremony will commence at 10:30 AM. Najeeb Jung, Chancellor of ADU and Lt. Governor of Delhi, will preside over the convocation ceremony.

On this occasion, a total number of 530 students who have completed various courses during the academic session 2015-16 will be awarded degrees. Students who have completed different courses like Ph.D. BA, M.A. and M.Phil, will be present on the occasion to receive the degrees. Similarly, a total number of 19 students will be awarded Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Education and Childhood Care, Environment and Development, Publishing and Development Studies.
This year, the first Ph.D. degree of the varsity will be awarded to a female student. Currently, the varsity is offering seventeen post graduate, seven undergraduate, five M.Phil and nine Ph.D. programmes. Apart from that, AUD is also offering two postgraduate diploma programmes.

Recently, Ambedkar University, Delhi has launched a School of Law, Governance and Citizenship and School of Vocational Studies. The new campus which is located at Karampura was inaugurated in the month of August. The new campus began functioning from the current academic session, i.e., 2016-17.
The government of Delhi established Ambedkar University in the year 2007.
