Delhi Commission for Women has recently met Delhi University Vice Chancellor Dinesh Singh and urged him to assist DU colleges to upload the details of their respective sexual harassment committees on their websites.
"We have told him that colleges under DU should upload the details of their respective sexual harassment committees on their websites so that students and staff become aware of their existence and VC has assured us that he will send letters to all colleges to do the same," said Swati Maliwal to the Media.
Maliwal earlier had sought information on the list of complaints the university has received in 2013-14 and the funds it has allocated to the committee looking into cases of sexual harassment involving students and teachers.
The DCW chief and Singh also discussed ways to make students safer in the national capital and status of police petrolling in the University vicinity.
"The condition of street lights in the University and college campus and vicinity was another major area of discussion. The chairperson is planning to write to individual colleges to know the condition of street lights in the campus and vicinity as in how many are not working. If need be, DCW will send notices to PWD and get the street lights working," said a DCW official to the media.
