An official statement issued by the Government of Delhi, issued on Tuesday, 17th September announced the government is looking forward to making the Urdu language a means to build a career. With this aim, the Delhi Government is likely to provide coaching to IAS aspirants in the Urdu language.
Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Art, Culture, and Languages Manish Sisodia interacted with various toppers in the Urdu language from different universities of Delhi.
Mr. Sisodia during the event talked about starting Urdu Academy of New Delhi.’ He said that the Urdu Academy would start coaching interested students for various examinations. Students, who prefer the Urdu language as the medium of examination will soon be able to do so. The government will provide them with the study material.
He further informed that the Urdu language will also be treated as a standard language just like Hindi and English.
The event was attended by Delhi government delegates and the Vice-Chancellor of Urdu Academy, New Delhi Mr. Shehpar Rasool. In the event, the students who have marked their excellence in Urdu Education were awarded.

The students hailed from top education institutes like District Institute of Education and Training, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) and Maharishi Valmiki College of Education (MVCE) .

The students and teachers at the event were happy that the Urdu language will get the same equal status as that of Hindi and English language.
