According to a notification issued by a senior official of Delhi University’s Admission Committee, it was revealed that the deadline to submit documents for completion of application procedure has been extended only for the admission seekers residing outside India.
The varsity thought that more time could be given to students who wish to pursue various courses in the country’s most sought-after university.
Now, the deadline for the candidates residing outside India has been extended to May 4, 2017, for the submission of documents for verification. Earlier, the last date was April 15, 2017. However, the deadline for online submission of applications was completed on April 20, 2017. Now, the deadline has been extended only for submitting the documents or hard copies.

Mr. Ashutosh also announced that the deadline for registering for the Ph.D. programme has been extended to May 31, 2017, from the earlier April 15, 2017.
This year, around 3,300 aspirants from abroad applied to various programmes offered by Delhi University. Last year, the total number of applicants were 2,400. There has been a significant increase in the number of applications and the students from various countries like Iran, Syria, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Thailand, South Korea, Sri Lanka and Mauritius have applied to Delhi University.

One of the professors of Delhi University expressed that the diverse courses offered by the varsity is the reason for a high number of applicants from abroad. Among the various courses, B.Com (Hons), Economics (Hons) etc., are the most sought-after courses.
