Delhi University admissions have been progressing at a rapid phase. Students are able to sort out their queries on the online admission portal, admission process, fee payment, online application and others. The helpline set up by the University of Delhi has been successful in sorting out the queries of students.
On an average, the DU helpline is receiving close to 120 queries daily. Parents and students do not want to take a chance and push themselves into hassles during the admission process. Therefore, they are relying on helpline even if it is a general query on the admission process.

Some of the queries that were received by DU helpline involved around gender change and confusion on what they should mark under the "Gender" category.
A student who marked gender as ‘others’ in the application form relied on helpline stating that she would undergo a sex change operation to become a woman. Therefore, the candidate was confused as she marked ‘others’ in the gender column of DU application form.
The counsellor who replied to the question responded that he would take up the issue with the senior officials. The matter still pending and the final decision is yet to be taken. It becomes difficult for counsellors to answer such strange queries.

Another strange question raised by a candidate is that he filled his own personal information in his sister’s application form making her ineligible for the admission to women’s college. A few parents who filled their personal information in DU application form instead of their child’s raised similar questions. Such questions are not only strange but also difficult to answer.
