Delhi University to Organise 3rd Plant Proteomics Workshop

Department of Botany (Delhi University) is organizing the 3rd Plant Proteomics Workshop on Mining Proteome and Deep Proteome between December 19 and December 23, 2017.

University of Delhi, famously known as Delhi University was founded in 1922. When Delhi University was founded, it had three colleges, 2 faculties and 750 students. Now it has 77 affiliated colleges, 16 faculties and 86 departments. The Vice President of India serves as the Chancellor of the university.

With rapidly expanding world population, there is an urgent need to increase plant productivity. This requirement has led researchers and environmentalists to focus on plant study towards specialized research area like Proteome. Proteomics being a technically challenging research area requires simultaneous training of researchers.

The Plant Proteomics Workshop on Mining Proteome and Deep Proteome will focus on analysis of low abundant proteins by mining extracellular proteome (apoplast, cuticle) and nuclear proteome, thereby enabling participants of the workshop to explore proteome at greater resolution.
