An awareness workshop on sanitation and self-hygiene was conducted by the SOC, Doon University at the Government Primary School, Phanduwala, Dudhli village. This was a part of adopting a village program being followed by the school in Dhudli and it was the fifth such activity in the last six months.
The students of the primary school were taught the importance of maintaining personal hygiene and cleanliness in their surroundings and also made aware of the health hazards of keeping oneself unclean. They also watched a short ad campaign and were made aware of the proper ways of washing hands.
They enjoyed interacting with the university students and shared their experiences of maintaining hygiene. School Principal Smt. Geeta Jindal has also shown enthusiasm towards the activity.
The activity was headed by assistant professor Aabshar Abbasi, School of communication, Doon University, accompanied by Ph.D. Scholar Sargam Mehra and students Anokhi Dasgupta, Vasudha Parashar, Mohit Kulasari and Neha Chamoli.
Doon University not only gives you exposure limited to drama, dance, singing etc but also how the society should be helped by spreading what you gain here in Doon University. A place where students and teachers work together for a better learning.
