The Lucknow centre of Doordarshan will telecast the documentary films made by journalism and mass communication students of Lucknow University. Most of these documentary films were made on social issues. For telecasting the documentary films on Doordarshan, Lucknow University has signed an agreement in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Governor, Mr. Ram Naik. Vice-Chancellor of Lucknow University and Assistant Director of Lucknow Doordarshan.

Expressing their opinions on the agreement, experts said that telecasting the documentary films made by the students of Lucknow University will boost up the confidence of others who enroll in programmes of this category. On the other hand, it will also add to their professional experience. The documentary films made by the students on social issues will play a significant role in spreading positive messages in different communities.
The Journalism Department of Lucknow University has a vast library of documentary films made by students which will be broadcasted by the Doordarshan from time to time.

Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Ram Naik indicated that journalism students must work hard to achieve success in the field. They must never compromise on quality as visual media is very powerful in bringing drastic changes in the society, he added. Students must develop certain skills so that they cater to the needs of the viewers of the 21 st century who want to know more in less time. They shall learn the art of summing up maximum things in the minimum possible time by using tools and technologies that have expanded the scope of media and journalism.
The agreement with Doordarshan will give a tremendous boost to the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Lucknow University.
