This year the number of dropouts has decreased but the number is still high. Last year in the academic year 2014, 55 students dropped out of the existing 13 Indian Institute of Management and 1,226 students dropped out of 16 Indian Institute of Technology.

This year the number has come down to 49 students from IIMs and 656 students dropped out IITs. This data was released by the Human Resources Department Minister, Nath Pandey in Lok Sabha on 8th August’ 16.
The minister mentioned that the reason behind this is poor management and lack of passion.
