After the admission scam involving fake disability and caste certificates, the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra has called a meeting with its high officials and heads of the institutes over non-submission of reports of verified documents of all students who were admitted in 2016.
Joint Director of DTE, Dayanand Meshram said these institutes are yet to submit their reports to DTE despite several notices. Several institutes had registered their complaint with the local police station but these institutes are yet to give any report to DTE . After the revelation of the names of the students found guilty, their admissions were canceled. The institutes that admitted these students were told to register an official complaint against these students.

It was on last August 2016 DTE of the state had found at least 16 cases of fake certificates. These students had secured admissions with fake certificates and DTE received an anonymous complaint from a whistleblower.
After that, there was another anonymous letter disclosing more students following the malpractice. Following this, the DTE had asked all the institutes and its Joint Directors to submit a report of all the erring students who had taken admission in various courses in 2016.
Joint Director of DTE also said that there was no development in the last two months. Now the DTE has taken up the matter on high priority. Those students who are still studying in different institutes by using wrong means would be brought to notice immediately.

The institutes where students took admission while producing face certificated were -
- Welingkar institute of Management
- Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS)
- Sydenham Institute of Management Studies, Research and Entrepreneurship Education(SIMSREE)
While the director of Sydenham Institute of Management said that they had already registered a FIR at the Marine lines police station in August and after that submitted to the DTE. An official of Welingkar institute of Management also said that a FIR was registered at the Matunga police station.
