DU Admissions 2017: Online Registrations Commence, 200 Registrations in First 10 Minutes

The University of Delhi has begun the online registration process for merit-based UG courses on May 22, 2017. According to sources, the registration process began at 6:00 PM. It seems like students had been eagerly waiting to apply for UG courses at Delhi University. As soon as the registrations begin, around 200 candidates registered in the first ten minutes. The varsity is expecting around 10,000 registrations by 6:00 PM today.

Before starting the application process, the candidates must ensure that they have a valid email ID. Therefore, create an email ID if you don't have one, and keep all the scanned documents ready to fill the online application.

According to sources, the varsity will continue the registration process until June 12, 2017. This year, the varsity started the online registration process earlier as compared to the previous year. There are 54,000 seats on offer in 62 affiliated colleges of Delhi University.

The varsity will release the first cut-off list on June 20, 2017. So far, the varsity has announced the dates for six cut-off lists. If there are any vacant seats after six rounds of counselling, the varsity will release the seventh cut-off list as well.

The varsity grants the admission based on score secured by the candidates in Class 12 examinations for merit-based UG courses. This year, CBSE students will get at least 15% fewer marks due to CBSE’s decision to scrap moderation policy. The CBSE’s decision will have a negative impact on students who are aspiring for Delhi University. However, the varsity clarified that it will not provide any relaxation to CBSE students.

On the other hand, the registrations for entrance based courses will begin from May 31, 2017.
