Campus of Open Learning (COL) of Delhi University is planning to launch online courses on IoT or Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Analytics through Pan-African e-network initiative. Ministry of External Affairs is all set to fund these online courses. The Ministry will award the scholarships to students coming from 25 countries of Africa to pursue these courses. This year, the Ministry of External Affairs will offer $2,000 scholarship to the African students. The COL will also offer the courses to other students soon.
Campus of Open Learning of Delhi University currently offers short-term certificate and diploma courses majorly in Accountancy and English Communication.

C.S. Dubey, Director of COL revealed that the fourth phase of the industrial revolution is taking place which is all about digital, physical and biological sciences. Hence, in view of the same, the COL will focus on introducing various courses that will be useful for the future.
The COL will create diploma and certificate courses in IoT, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Analytics with the help of other DU colleges. These courses will be available as Massive Online and Open Courses (MOOCs). The Ministry of External Affairs will pay $2,000 for each African student who enrols in the course. However, the ministry will offer scholarship only to a limited number of students.

With an objective to promote Indian education abroad, the Ministry of External Affairs has directed the COL to develop these courses.
Students of Delhi University and others can also enrol in these courses. However, these students will not get scholarships and will have to pay the course fee separately on their own. The COL is making all the possible efforts to launch the courses by October 2017.
