The Faculty of Management Studies – Delhi University has recorded over 110% surge in the number of women students enrolled in MBA course for the academic session 2018-19. FMS offers 226 seats in MBA course , and the number of women students enrolled this year stood at 83 so far. The admission process for FMS MBA course will close by the end of July, and the varsity is expecting more women students to be enrolled in the MBA course. Last year, only 39 women students joined FMS MBA course.
FMS is very happy about the rise in the number of the women students on the campus. The new MBA batch of 2018-20 is diverse, and it clearly indicates a positive gender ratio. In 2017, only 18% of women students joined the MBA course at FMS, while the percentage has increased to 38% this year. The number of women students opting MBA course at FMS doubled in the 2018 FMS management admisisons.

One of the major reasons for the increase in the number of women students was revised MBA admission criteria of FMS. Until 2017, FMS gave 85% weightage of CAT score and 15% weightage to personal interview and extempore.

With the inclusion of Class 10 & Class 12 marks in the final selection, the final score of women candidates might have gone high in the selection process.
