While Shaina Ahluwalia, a second-year student at Lady Sri Ram College, wrote an open letter on Facebook with her words of wisdom for the freshers. "You've officially left the confines of the school gates, packed the school uniform inside and you're ready to start 'the ultimate life of freedom--the college years. Exactly a year later you'll be a changed person already even if you're just a little more mature. Let go of the past, smile and get ready to begin college life. Welcome DU fresher", she said. Selfies were also in vogue on the social media and so were selfie sticks on campus. Students posted pictures with their friends and seniors on Facebook and Twitter. Besides, they also posted pictures of Restaurants and cafes in areas surrounding the North Campus such as Kamla Nagar and Patel Chest, offered special discounts to the students.
