Delhi University (DU) has set up the Delhi School of Skill Enhancement and Entrepreneurship Development (DSSEED) with the objective of enhancing skills and developing entrepreneurial spirit among the students. Eminent biochemist and innovator, Prof Vijay K Chaudhary (Honorary Director) will head the institute, which will be established under the Institution of Eminence (IoE) scheme.
The school will be guided by an advisory council including noted scientists and innovation facilitators under the Chairmanship of Professor NK Ganguly, Former Director-General (ICMR). DSSEED will look at reducing the gap which exists in the current knowledge delivery system by offering training programmes. It will make use of "innovative methods" to help develop the young minds so that they can meet the global needs and fulfil the 'Make in India, Made for World' dream.

DU also released an official statement regarding this which said that the school will provide incubation facilities for entrepreneurs and students which can also prove helpful in enhancing the research interests of the college teachers who are unable to take ideas forward due to the lack of necessary infrastructure and the right ecosystem at their place of work. Faculties from various backgrounds such as Social Sciences, Commerce and Economics, Sciences, Management and Finance will all be a part of DSSEED. Delhi University's official statement highlighted the importance of the role of the multidisciplinary faculties as that will help resolve the "immediate and ever-evolving future challenges which in turn will contribute towards national development."
