Delhi University's (DU) School of Open Learning will be launching five online courses from January. The SOL will start five courses in B.Com Honours. B.A. Programme, B.Com, Political Science Honours, English Honours and the same will be offered in online mode.
The new courses are scheduled to start from January 2020 and the courses will be available for students from India as well as from other countries. Professor C S Dubey, Director SOL informed about the same.
The SOL online courses have been started after the approval by the University Grants Commission - UGC. According to the officials, there were 22 universities had applied to introduce online courses. However, UGC gave permission to four universities which also includes the University of Delhi.

Introduction of online courses by DU School of Open Learning will help many students take up higher education which is unable to do so in regular mode.
DU School of Open Learning was set up as a constituent college of Delhi University in 1962. Since then it has been a premier institute in the field of distance education in India. SOL is one of the largest educational institutions in the country with 5 lakh students. More than 1.5 lakh students are enrolled every year in the School of Open Learning.
