Union Minister of Human Resource Development, Prakash Javadekar informed that the expenditure on education from the government’s side has gone up to 4.6% from 3.8% in GDP.
While attending a convocation at one of Mumbai’s college, D Y Patil University Mumbai , he proclaimed that infrastructure for the educational purposes had also increased. He says that the entire cost that has been paid for education shows that the cost is slowly rising to 6% which is the goal that they are currently trying to reach.
He further informed that many facilities have been built up and started like 7 new IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) and IIMs(Indian Institute of Management), 2 new NITs(National Institute of Technology), 3 Central Universities, and more than a 100 Kendriya Vidyalayas. The digital portal SWAYAM which has 2000 courses to offer the students to learn from, for free. There are many other facilities that the government offers the upcoming students of India which enables the student to focus on their education and growth. Many free facilities are also available especially for students looking forward to pursuing higher education.

Javadekar further requested all the students of the Institute to fulfill their social responsibilities along with their jobs. They should ensure that the new emerging India is safe from poverty, corruption and other social issues.

Apart from this, he further informed that there are more than 200 colleges/universities all over India and their students had decided to choose Traditional Indian wear instead of the usual dress. And he wishes that more students and colleges choose to do so in the future.
