Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Chandra Babu Naidu emphasised that there is a need for new research and hence every university or educational institution should have a special ‘innovation chapter’. He explained that innovation means doing something differently. So, to promote innovation every high school and university should have an innovation chapter.

He indicated that today huge companies ranging from IT giants to other service providers have come up only because of innovations. He mentioned that Andhra Pradesh government has also applied some innovations like utilising power infrastructure to carry fibre lines to reduce costs.
He further added that the government has taken all the necessary steps to improve student-faculty ratio in higher education. The state government has also taken other initiatives like establishing premier national institutes, strengthening state universities and also attracting private sector investments into the higher education sector.

On the other hand, the government has appointed a 25-member State Knowledge Advisor Board with distinguished educators, industrialists and academicians from across the globe to formulate and implement a roadmap for higher education in the state.
The government has implemented Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) from the Classes 6 to 10 to improve the reasoning ability and promote innovative ideas among the students. Under CCE pattern, the reasoning ability and conceptual understanding of the students are being tested. Activity based learning plays a major role in CCE pattern. The government has also introduced digital classes in most of the government schools this year. Inspire Camps are being organised to bring out innovative ideas.
