EFLU and University of Vechta Sign MoU

The English and Foreign Languages University and the University of Vechta, Germany, signed a primary Memorandum of Understanding at a three-day international conference organised for the academic and cultural conglomeration between the two nations.

EFLU and University of Vechta Sign MoU

The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) and the University of Vechta, Germany signed a primary Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the collaboration of interdisciplinary activities and enrich the cultural boundaries of both the nations and the educational disciplines. The MoU was signed in an international conference which was held for three consecutive days. The topic of the conference was Time and Temporality in the Asian and European Modernity.

It was a conference which was collaboratively organised by the Department of English Literature of EFLU and Department of Germanic Studies of University of Vechta, Germany. At the conference, the Professor and Vice Chancellor E. Suresh Kumar delivered a speech on the collaboration of the two universities at the transnational level. He also talked about the objectives of the academic and cultural enrichment that will be shared between the universities.

In his speech, the Vice Chancellor invited for more pacts and collaborations to enrich the cultural and educational boundaries between the two nations. He also highlighted that the English and Foreign Languages University is one out of the five central varsities in the country and one out of the two in the South Indian region to gain the Graded Autonomy grant by the University Grants Commission in the year 2018.

This Graded Autonomy for EFLU has given the freedom to frame its syllabus, structure its courses, recruit faculty and staff members and establish centres at different places. With this advantage, the University can plan to establish collaborative pacts with different universities and institutions from around the world. The President of the University of Vechta, Prof Burghart Schmidt, also addressed the audience in the conference with his thoughts and expressions for the collaboration.
