The registrations for JEE (Joint Entrance Examination ) Advanced will begin from from April 29 and will close on May 4. The JEE The exam date is May 22 and will be conducted by IIT Guwahati .
This is a national level exam, which is conducted for admission to various Bachelor's degree programmes in eighteen IITs and Indian School of Mines (ISM), along with other reputed engineering institutes. Only the top 2 lakh rank holders of JEE Main will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. A candidate can attempt this exam a maximum of two times and that too in consecutive years
Eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2016:
Candidates interested in appearing for this national level engineering entrance exam shall satisfy the specified eligibility requirements before filling application form. Only top 2 lakh candidates of JEE Main are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. A candidate, including a foreign national, must fulfill each and every one of the following five criteria to appear in this exam-
- Criterion 1- Performance in JEE Main 2016
- Criterion 2- Age Limit
- Criterion 3- Number of Attempts
- Criterion 4- Appearance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination
- Criterion 5- Earlier admission at IITs/ISM
