Cricketer Gautam Gambhir would be the Guest of Honor at the annual sports event ‘Ranbhoomi’ to be organized by the students of Integrated Program in Management (IPM) IIM Indore from 5 - 7 February 2016
All across India, numerous sports persons will be drawn from prestigious institutes and colleges.
“The word ‘Ranbhoomi’ truly captures the essence of any competitive sport. It is about the challenge, the war, the performance in the war, the rules, the ethics, the spirit and all that contributes to culminate into a healthy competition where one desires victory, in its every form,” said Akhtar Parvez, the IIM Indore media in-charge.
This event is held every year and goes for three days and as usual, it will witness an excess of 20 sporting events. These will include games ranging from like Chess, Volleyball, Lawn Tennis, Basketball, Football, and Cricket, to other unusual sports like Foosball, Gully Cricket, Street Football, Arm Wrestling and many others. But this is not all. There are other flagship events like Swimming, Power Lifting, and Triathlon too, which will be held here.
There will also be informal events while the highlight will be the ‘Mega Night’ that will be on 7 February.‘Fight for Glory Campaign’ will be the last day event, and this will actually show the sports personnel who are suffering and it will have more than 8000 participants coming from 80 colleges.
“Each event promises to bring together the best talent from across the nation and thus the fest brings three days of a pure, unadulterated sporting experience for its participants,” Parvez added.
