Indian Institute of Management, Rohtak is organising its annual speaker spectacle, UDAAN, a two day event on 12-13th December, 2015. The Entrepreneurship Cell, IIM Rohtak brings this event with the aim of inculcating awareness and stimulating the culture of entrepreneurship among the students through various activities like guest lectures, workshops, B-plan competitions and other such events. In these activities, assistance is provided to budding entrepreneurs in incubating their business plans through mentorship from panel advisors and networking opportunities with VCs and PE investors. The result of this continuous effort is the development of an entrepreneurial ecosystem facilitating efficient interaction between students, entrepreneurs, mentors & angel investors.
With an avalanche of fun and cultural activities, b-plan competition, live performances and the headlining acts of Keynote speaking and Panel Discussions; this year the summit promises to cement its status as the cynosure of the college summit scene. Its online and on-field business competitions witnessing participations from numerous B-schools from across the nation, UDAAN is poised to be a phenomenal success.
Last year saw the likes of Bollywood celebrity Mr Piyush Mishra, Mr Pradeep Gidwani (Founder, The Pint Room, Co-founder of The Beer Café) and Mr Sanjiv Bajaj (MD, Bajaj Capital) among many others. Their journeys to becoming successful entrepreneurs not by luck, but by consistent hard work, gripped the audiences. This year too, eminent leaders and dignitaries such as Dr A. S. Pillai (father of BRAHMOS missile, Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan awardee), Mr. Ajay Chaturvedi (Founder, HarVa), Mr Siva Kotthapalli (Head of Gurgaon DVCI, Amdocs), Mr Akash Gautam (Motivational Speaker & Corporate Trainer in India) and Mr Varun Saxena (Founder Career Anna) are arriving to grace the event with their views and discussions on the subject. Mr. Amitabh Kant (Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP) & Chairman, Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (DMICDC), Ministry of Commerce & Industry) will inaugurate the Incubation Centre on 12th December. Mr Pradeep Jain, Managing Director of Karbonn mobile - the title sponsor for the event, will also be a keynote speaker at the event.
The theme for UDAAN 2015 is “From Wantrepreneur to Entrepreneur”, implying the call for action in ignited minds to break out of their comfort zone and take the leap of chasing their dreams. Inspired by UDAAN 2014’s theme, E-Cell IIM Rohtak is launching its Incubation Centre to take the entrepreneurial aspirations of the students from a dream to reality. The Incubation Centre will not just be the launch pad for budding talents, but also a constant reminder that every great business, every great product, every great brand in existence today started out as just a thought. The transformation was enacted by the sheer determination of one mind which took the thought inside and made it real.
