Expected Good Percentile in CAT 2023: For admissions to top IIMs in the country, a score range of 98+ percentile is considered good. For other lower-ranked IIMs, a score of 95+ percentile can also be considered as a good percentile. Aside from this, the 90 to 95 percentile range is also considered a good score for leading non-IIM B-Schools accepting CAT scores.

As the number of seats available at IIMs is only 5,500+ and the number of CAT registrations is over 3.3 lakhs, the competition is very tough. Furthermore, the number of open seats is also reduced due to the seat reservation policy. Hence, the cutoffs are very high for IIMs. Comparatively, there are a higher number of seats in non-IIM member institutions, thus lowering their cutoff requirements.

• The above scores are for the general category and other categories, the expected scores will be comparatively low.
• Very Good Percentile : At this percentile, the candidate can easily be admitted to the institute.
• Good Percentile : There is a good chance that the candidate may be admitted to the institute.
• Average Percentile : Though reduced, there is still a fair chance that the candidate may be admitted to the institute but admission is not sure.
