However, these percentile scores are different from percentages and vary with factors such as the marks of the topper, the number of students appearing for the exam, etc. Percentile is a relative calculation of marks with respect to that of the topper, and thus, the marks of the topper will be at the 100 percentile, whether they score 300 marks or 220 marks.
Considering the topper to be between 280 to 300 marks, the usual range, the following analysis for 220 marks is made.
