Gender forums of various DU colleges have teamed up to host a film festival and promote discussion on subjects such as gender roles, sexual orientation and stereotypes. The aim of these forums is to shed light on issues that are of importance to the community.

Senior Coordinator, Parivartan gender forum, Kirori Mal College , Anjali Chauhan said that themes have been picked by every college and according to that they will screen a movie that will discuss various sexuality and gender issues.
The movie Aligarh is being screened to reflect the theme moral policing around sexuality. Other films that will be screened are That Girl in Yellow Boots, Fandry, The Little Mermaid among others.
Utpal Gore, Astitva gender forum, Ramjas College , said that subjects like intersectionality will also be covered in order to shed light on different perceptions of students on the concept of gender. He also informed that the college will be screening Carol to bring up the theme of a lesbian, as the protagonist of the movie is a lesbian.
The film festival will be open for all spectators and is not limited to the students of DU. Whoever wishes to watch the movies can attend the festival. The forums have kept it open for all to bring in more students will different perspectives.

Students of the university are welcoming this move to encourage gender and sexuality discussions. Students believe that these are issues that need to be talked about and neglecting them is not good for the society.
