Float after JoSAA Seat Allotment 2023: Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JOSAA) has released the seat allotment for JoSAA Round 2 2023 today, July 7, 2023. The candidate who has acquired a seat is required to select any one option i.e., ‘Freeze’, ‘Float’, or ‘Slide’ at the time of reporting. The online reporting for round 2 has commenced with the release of JoSAA Round 2 2023 seat allotment. Also, the online reporting process includes fee payment, document upload, and response by the candidate to query (if required). During the online reporting process, you can either accept or reject the allotted seat.

Choosing an option called "Float" for JoSAA counselling 2023 will allow candidates to apply for the next subsequent round while keeping the seat allotted to them on hold. If the candidate is offered a seat of higher preference in any institute/branch, then the seat kept on Float will be automatically dropped. If not allotted, the candidate will still retain the currently allotted seat. Therefore, if the candidate is not offered a seat in subsequent rounds of seat allocation, then he/she can freeze the seat which was on Float, and then that seat will be allotted to you for admission.
