The Government of Andhra Pradesh is planning to launch four-year degree courses, i.e., B.A., B.Sc and B.Com soon. The approval for the introduction of four-year degree courses is underway, and the officials are discussing the pros and cons for the same. It was Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who urged the officials to figure out ways for improving skills of the graduates. The last year of the degree course should be an internship for students, suggested by AP CM.
All about Four-Year Degree Courses in Andhra Pradesh
Some of the major highlights and advantages of four-year degree courses, which are expected to be introduced in Andhra Pradesh can be checked below -
- The four-year degree courses will help the students to attain skills, as the last year of the course will only focus on practicals and internship.
- All the students need to complete the internship/ practicals in the final-year, and only then he/she shall be awarded degree/ certificate.
- Students will be trained in various job skills in the final year of the degree course. For instance, students shall be trained in some IT skills, communication skills, interview skills etc so that they can fit in multiple job roles.
- Four-degree courses will be a major advantage to students, specifically for those from rural areas. These students can attain several job skills so that they can find employment immediately after graduation.
- The internships shall help the students to attain experience and skills. If the performance of students during internships is satisfactory, he/ she may be recruited by the respective company after graduation.
Apart from the four-year degree courses, the government is planning to extend the B.Tech course by one more year, i.e., five-year B.Tech courses. The final-year of B.Tech shall focus on internship and job skills.
