At the 4th conference of the Indian Academy of Management, the IIM Indore ’s alumna Anupama Sharma (Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) 2010) received the Best Research Paper Award (Second Runner Up). Over 300 delegates attended the conference that was held at the Noida campus of IIM Lucknow on December 11-13, 2015. Anupama’s paper titled Work Engagement: A Framework to Analyse Micro Level Individual Outcomes competed against 400 research papers and won the Second Runner Up position for the Best Research Paper award. Anupama was also a proud recipient of 25,000 INR as prize money.
Anupama’s paper explores and empirically tests the relationships among work engagement outcomes. According to the study made by her the engagement will result into proactive and inventive behaviour such as job crafting and innovativeness. The important facet of the study is that it provides a theory based empirical evidence regarding whether engaged employees get involved in outcome behaviour that has not been examined earlier. This discussion would go a long way in contributing to improving the understanding of the work engagement. Further identification of the new directions and extension of the research would result from the discussion on research limitations and future research.
