Strengthening academic cooperation between two institutes will play a significant role in the development of quality education and research. Nowadays, most of the premier institutes are looking forward to consolidating academic ties between various institutes located in India as well as abroad. With the same motive, Film and Television Institute of India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mahatma Gandhi Central University that is located in Bihar.

As per the MoU, both institutes will enhance cooperation in academic activities. The agreement enables the two institutes to carry out joint research projects, facilitate student and faculty exchanges, conduct seminars and workshops, exchange publications and documents etc. The mutual agreement between the two institutes will not only witness the change in the academic scenario but also give a tremendous impetus to research.

The understanding between the two institutes will also provide internship opportunities to students. Under the student-exchange programme, the host institute will play a pivotal role in evaluating and assessing the overall performance of students. Later, the host institute will award a letter grade or marks to the performance of students.
Another significant move that will be taken through this agreement is that FTII will help Mahatma Gandhi Central University to set up School of Film, TV and Mass Media. The curriculum will be designed by FTII and it will provide faculty inputs and resources.
Both the institutes will continue to extend cooperation in all the aspects of quality education and will help develop requisite skills among the students, to make them well-suited for employment opportunities.
